Executive Summary: The TCS–TCET AIML Center of Excellence (CoE) was established to bridge the gap between academic learning and industry-ready AI/ML competencies. The collaboration has created a structured ecosystem for industry exposure, student internships, faculty upskilling, academic integration, expert learning, research and innovation.

Core Programs & Activities

1. Industry Connect

Initial industrial visit and TCS engagement led to the TCS–TCET Center of Excellence MoU on 2 July 2025 and establishment of the CoE.

2. Student Internships

As part of the CoE, students receive two types of internship opportunities:

  • Full-time internship: Students clear the TCS Internship Test and work on industry problems directly under TCS mentors for the entire internship duration. 9 final-year students have participated.
  • CoE Lab / Research assignments: Students evaluate products or functionality in the TCET lab where TCS data and applications are not involved. 2 research assignments have been completed and the 3rd is in progress.

Gen AI, Advanced AI/Gen AI and research internships provide hands-on exposure to real-world AI problems.

3. Academic Integration

TCS experts contributed to BoS and PAQIC, supporting curriculum development and evaluation strategies.

4. Faculty Development

TCS APEX and Immersive Day activities enhanced faculty industry exposure and practical teaching insights. 2 faculty members participated in the APEX FDP training program.

5. Expert Learning

Three TCS AI expert lectures covered current industry trends and AI adoption across domains.

6. Innovation & Research

TCS provided problem statements and 3 TCS associates joined as jury members for evaluation of the InnovGenius 2026 Hackathon, strengthening innovation, problem-solving and industry evaluation.

Technologia 2.0 – August 2026: TCS supported the event by providing 3 judges to evaluate hackathon solutions.
